Sevilla Weather and Time

The weather in Sevilla is called Mediterranean. Which means, the climate is a resemble of the land in the Mediterranean basin which refers to the land around surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea that connotes mild, rainy winters, and hot and dry summers. The annual temperature of the city is 18.6 °C (65 °F). This makes the city the temperate area in Europe.

Winters in Seville city are mild. According to their weather survey January is the coolest month, it has an average maximum of temperatures of 15.9°C (61 °F) and a minimum of 5.2 °C (41 °F). However, in Seville city the summer is noted as very warm. August is the warmest month, with average maximum temperatures of 35.5 °C (96 °F) and minimum temperatures of 19.4 °C (67 °F) and that every year the temperature exceeds 40 °C (104 °F) on several occasions. The lowest temperature that has been registered by the weather station at Seville Airport on the February the 12th in 1956 is −5.5 °C (22 °F). The highest temperature according to a later survey shows 46.6 °C (116 °F) dated July 23, 1995.

However, some results that are non- accredited by the National Institute of Meteorology  (83910 LEZL) located in the southern part of Seville Airport shows 47.2 °C (117 °F) a record documentary in August 1, 2003 heat wave where this was the hottest summer in Europe that has been recorded.

Precipitations varies to 600- 800 mm (23.5- 31.5) every year for the month of October to April in particular, while December heavy rains falls with an average of 95 millimeters.

In Seville, people say it is in summer time that people/ tourists should be aware. It says that Sevilla holds the record for the hottest place in Europe with 50°C literally it has been told the street will be empty especially during the middle of the days in the month of August. The people especially the tourists who are not yet familiar with their climate situation are advice to be outside your place but that before reaching 10 o’clock in the morning.

And during winter times, people used to have heater or a fire place in their houses since their house are made of marbles, concrete household. It is much colder inside.

Rain is not a typical thing that usually happens with their climate. There was a time that Seville has gone through nearly four months that has no rain. However, October starts rainy season that last till the month of December. Snow is not a word in Seville, it said the last time that snow poured in the city of Seville was fifty years ago.
