Sevilla Cathedral

This Cathedral was formally called the Catedral de Santa María de la Sede (Cathedral of Saint Mary) but today this has been commonly called Seville Cathedral. They started to build the said Cathedral in the year 1402 and they have it finished in the 16th century.

The Seville Cathedral was said to be the largest of all Roman Catholic Cathedrals and also the largest medieval Gothic religious building. In Seville city Seville Cathedral occupies the site of great mosques in the late twelfth century. Many of the tourist from all around the world have definitely appreciates the beauty of Seville Cathedral, the size, glamour and grandeur of the Cathedral has become one of the characteristics charmed the people from around the Globe.

Only in Seville you can find the ultimate masterpiece of altar done by Pierre Duncart. This is said to be the “Largest and the richest altarpiece in the world” one of the perfect example of a Gothic design made of woodcarving.

Inside Seville Cathedral, as you walk along the aisles you will be able to witness how these series of rooms designed in a rich Plateresque style an intricate style of stonework decorating building facades in renaissance Spain in 1530 made by Diego de Riano. During the Spanish renaissance, this was by far the most dominant style decoratively.

As you reached the ante chamber of the Seville Cathedral you will find the magnificent ceiling where reflection from decorated marble rays upon the mirror that looks beautifully done.
